History
In the middle of the 19th century, Parchim County was already
the second largest industrial location in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,
even though it was mainly dominated by agriculture.
Since 1930 economic development was speeded up by the airport,
military and pilote training activities as well as by
one of the largest aircraft building companies which settled
nearby. Since the 1970s, the development of the industrial
sector was promoted by foundation of the Hydraulic Works, a
metal processing factory and factories for custom made machines,
ovens and the textile industry.
These are the historic foundations on which economic development
of today builds up. They coined the workforce, the infrastructure
and people's pride and these are the roots of their local identity.
Come to where positive changes take place!
