Traffic Infrastructure

Seaports, Roads, Rail, Airport

Parchims connection to the main traffic ways is perfect: The motorways A24 (Hamburg-Berlin), A241 (to Wismar) and the A19 (to Rostock) connect Parchim County in all directions. The motorway along the Baltic Coast, A 20, ensure that the seaports from Luebeck to Stettin can be reached easily. The planned motorway A14 from Schwerin to Magdeburg will connect Parchim County directly with the A2 and the regions Wolfsburg and Leipzig. The almost congestion-free motorway A 24 allows trucks to reach Hamburg and Berlin within 90 to 120 minutes.

All over Parchim county, the railway network is a very tighly knit one. There are 17 railway stations and via the railway stations Schwerin and Ludwigslust, which are easy to reach, the region is connected to the Intercity network of the Deutsche Bahn.

Parchim Airport is successfully developing into one of the leading air cargo locations in Northern Germany. Please click here for more information. For passenger flights, Hamburg and Berlin are not far away and from Hamburg-Lübeck, Ryan air services 7 European metropoles (as of August 2007).
